  • Recognized by HealthGrades Inc. for earning an award for Excellence in Critical Care and distinctions for Orthopedic Surgery Five Stars and Pulmonary Care Five Stars for 2008. HealthGrades Inc. is a private company that rates doctors and hospitals and provides information on a broader range of outcomes. HealthGrades offers data on more than 5,000 hospitals derived from Medicare billing data that is used to calculate the rate of complications or deaths for 31 procedures.   • Best Acute-Care Hospitals Award from Total Benchmark Solutions (TBS). The award was given based on 2005 quality measurements provided by health care organizations to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
