The Metro Health Hospital Foundation
has been awarded an $11,200 grant from the Frey Foundation to support
the green roof initiative at the new hospital. The grant, which is the
first to Metro Health from the Frey Foundation, will allow the
hospital’s sustainability team to evaluate and disseminate results from
the storm water management evaluation program.
The program, which has already received grants from the Michigan
Department of Environmental Quality ($400,000) and RCI Foundation
($10,000), exemplifies Metro Health’s commitment to standing as a model
for creating an environmentally responsible facility that invests in
the long-term wellness of patients, staff and the community as a whole.
