Hospital
Opens New Facility,

Successfully Completes
Patient Move

Wyoming, Michigan,
September 30,
2007 – Metro Health
Hospital opened its new facility in Wyoming at 7 a.m. Sunday, September 30, completing the last chapter of
its move with the successful transfer of patients from its Grand Rapids facility.

The move, which began at 7 a.m., drew on the
resources of 375+ medical staff and three ambulance companies to move 90
patients. The seven-hour move was
completed without incident, and the Grand
Rapids facility officially closed its doors at 1:03
p.m.

All inpatient health-care services, including
emergency-room services, are now housed in the new hospital at 5900 Byron Center
in Wyoming.

The Grand Rapids
hospital is scheduled to be sold to Beacon Hill at Eastgate, formerly Michigan Christian Home,
its longtime neighbor. Beacon
Hill plans to demolish the old hospital in December to make way
for a continuing care retirement community.

"The move went extremely smoothly and exactly as we
had planned," said Craig Blassingame, director of transition planning. "As a team, we spent more than three years
planning for this move, and all that hard work paid off today. We had lots of praise from patients and
families for how easy and seamless the transition between facilities went."
