Cardiologist Barbara A. Karenko Joins Metro Health

Dr. Barbara A. Karenko has joined Metro Health Hospital as an interventional cardiologist.
The board-certified cardiologist and internal medicine physician joins the growing Metro Heart and Vascular, which has five board-certified physicians offering comprehensive cardiology services in three locations in West Michigan.
Karenko recently completed an interventional/endovascular medicine cardiology fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. She also completed a general cardiology fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in New Jersey. A native of Ypsilanti she completed her medical residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc.
Active professionally, Karenko is a member of the American College of Cardiology, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, American Society of Echocardiography, American College of Osteopathic Internists, American Osteopathic Association and Michigan Osteopathic Association.
Karenko holds a bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and a doctor of osteopathic medicine from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to being licensed in Michigan, she is also licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
She currently resides in Grand Rapids.
