Metro Health Hospital received one of the top awards today from 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For – the first year it applied for the recognition program.
The Wyoming-based community hospital, which earned status as a Top 100 Hospital for three consecutive years, was recognized as one of 10 Elite Award Winners in the category of Work-Life Balance. The category honors the “extent to which the organization and its management recognize employees’ needs to balance work with family and other demands, while ensuring flexibility in procedures and policies.
Metro Health was recognized for:
- Participating in local events and fund raising activities such as the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, National Kidney Walk, Relay for Life, American Heart Association Heart Walk and more
- Encouraging employee health through employee wellness initiatives that all employees can join
- Bringing fun into the workplace with celebrations, such as picnics with dunk tanks
“We are extremely honored to be recognized not only as one of the best places to work in West Michigan, but as an employer with a strong commitment to work-life balance,” said Floyd Wilson, Jr., executive vice president of human resources. “Healthcare is among the most demanding of all professions – the hours can be long and the work exacting. Metro Health has really worked to create an environment where all our employees can create a balance between the professional and the personal, while still ensuring we deliver the best – and safest – patient experience.
“We are gratified to receive this honor, particularly since this is the first year we have participated in Best & Brightest. We are extremely fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated team of more than 2,000 doctors, nurses and support staff.”
