Dr. Mykola J. Bartkiw Joins Metro Health

Metro Health Hospital announced today that Dr. Mykola J. Bartkiw has joined as a hand and an orthopedic surgeon.
Bartkiw will focus his practice on hand and upper extremity surgery, treating conditions from the "shoulder to fingertips." He will be based in the Cascade Neighborhood Outpatient Center, but will also practice at the Southwest Neighborhood Outpatient Center.
Bartkiw also currently serves as a clinical instructor in the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is actively involved in the education of medical students and orthopedic surgery residents. He has authored several articles and book chapters on orthopedic trauma, upper extremity surgery and related subjects. He has also volunteered his time on a medical mission to Guatemala.
He recieved his undergraduate magna cum laude from Aquinas College and his medical degree from the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has since completed a general orthopedic surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at MSU’s POH Regional Medical Center. Most recently, he completed a hand surgery and microsurgery fellowship at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.
He now resides in Grand Rapids.
