Ruth Klingensmith Will Serve as Metro Health’s Compliance Officer

Metro Health Hospital announced today that Ruth Klingensmith will serve as the hospital’s new compliance officer.
After 31 years at Metro Health, most recently as the accreditation and clinical regulations officer, Klingensmith will step into this new role. She will be responsible for identifying and assessing areas of compliance risk for the hospital and Metropolitan Enterprises, communicating the importance of the compliance program to executive management, the board of directors, physicians and employees, enforcing the written code of conduct, coordinating the development and implementation of educational programs and reporting processes and related issues.
Klingensmith joined Metro Health in 1981, serving in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility in direct patient care, including nursing supervisor and assistant director of specialty departments. During her tenure she has also served as a quality management coordinator, manager of quality and accreditation and clinical regulations officer.
She holds a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She holds membership with the Health Care Compliance Association.
A native of Pennsylvania, Klingensmith resides in Caledonia with husband, James.
