Metro Health Receives Women’s Choice Award as One of “America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience”

Metro Health Hospital has received the Women’s Choice Award for being one of “America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience” by women.
Metro Health was one of the top 100 hospitals nation-wide in the 101-250 bed category for the award, which identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on what women say they want from a hospital. Criteria include quality physician communications, responsiveness of nurses and support staff, cleanliness and trusted referrals from other women.
Hospitals named as America’s Best are then invited to join an elite network of brands, across multiple industries, which carry the Women’s Choice Award, symbolizing their commitment to women.
“The entire Metro Health team makes providing the best patient experience a top priority,” said Mike Faas, president and CEO of Metro Health. “We want to help our patients and community achieve and maintain their best health possible. This award recognizes the good work of our team.”
Women make or influence more than 90 percent of health care decisions for themselves and their families, according to a study published by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The Award signals that a hospital meets high standards regarding a woman’s preferences, and the distinction allows women to make an informed decision about where to go for care for themselves or their family.
“Right now, the national conversation about health care is focused on politics, insurance companies, and ‘the bottom line,’ which ignores what matters most to the patient – their experience with health care providers,” says Delia Passi, CEO and founder of WomenCertified, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “We’re putting the power of choice in the woman’s hands with the information to simplify her choices.”
