Posted: January 10, 2014
Metro Health will hold a public open house on Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 3-8 p.m. to showcase its new Outpatient Surgery Center at Metro Health Park East.
Attendees will be able to see hands-on demonstrations of the latest in surgical equipment and technology as they tour the new 20,500 square-foot facility at 4055 Cascade Road SE, which has scheduled its first surgery for later this month. The new facility features:
- 3 surgical suites for foot and hand, urology, ear, nose and throat procedures and more
- 23 pre- and post-op beds
- Shelled space for future surgical suite growth
In 2013, Metro Health signed a long-term lease to secure Metro Health Park East. Later this year, Metro will open its second Wound Healing Center in the new facility as well as its first urgent care center. By the close of 2016, Metro will have moved into the remaining 41,000 square feet of space as the sole occupant of the facility, which was built in 2007.
“We are incredibly pleased to have secured such a convenient and highly visible location to accommodate our continued growth,” said Mike Faas, president and CEO of Metro Health. “Our philosophy is to provide the best overall experience for our patients, their families, our physicians and staff and the community we serve. Our new location is highly recognizable, easy to get to and will give us room to grow for the long term.”
Metro Health is working with two Grand Rapids companies, Architect at Large and The Christman Company, on the design and construction of Metro Health Park East. Highlights of the new space are expected to include additional medical offices and a satellite pharmacy, among other services.
