Metro Health Hospital is offering a full-time Information Services opportunity. Primary area of responsibility is Database Administration. Assignments include monitoring database operations, restoring and repairing databases, working closely with the Information Services Team in database specification development and review, and in guiding assisting Systems Analysts in database selection. Secondary responsibilities include McKesson STAR support, report development and some application development. This is an exciting position for an Information Technology professional who possesses operational experience with monitoring and managing prominent enterprise databases (SQL Server and ORACLE). Experience with McKesson STAR support is desired. The position requires experience with and knowledge of current report and application development tools, system terminology, and an understanding of the components and the technologies that support a healthcare system. A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or experience in a healthcare-related programmer analyst role is required.

Requirements include, troubleshooting issues with existing or developed systems, develop strategic training methodologies and form continued relationships with customers within the system. Coordinate and assist with the setup and support of physician’s and their office staff that utilize Metro Health’s computer systems. This position is responsible for assessing information systems needs and opportunities, and will use project management and analytic skill to coordinate resources. Excellent oral and written communication skills, a proven track record of exceptional customer service and vendor relationships are essential to fulfill our commitment to excellence. Must have the ability to develop clear action plans that drive process improvement. Candidates will possess 3-5 years experience in healthcare and a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
IT Systems Analyst/Project Manager
The IT Systems Analyst will lead the implementation of Metro’s new lab Information System. This position will be responsible for assessing information systems needs, coordinating resources and application functionality, serving as a liaison between IT and the lab. Requirements include project management experience, excellent oral and written communications skills, a proven track record of exceptional customer service and establishing vendor relationships. BS in Computer Science, experience installing/managing a LIS, and experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
