If you are planning on conducting human subjects research at Metro Health, following is the  information you will need to complete the IRB required research ethics training:

Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Register or sign-in where indicated
  • Affiliate yourself with Metro Health by selecting “Metro Health – Wyoming,Michigan”
  • Select ”Basic Biomedical Research” and then click “Continue”
  • Begin your Biomedical Research Course by clicking on the red link “Incomplete – Re-Enter”
  • Complete all the required modules.  A cumulative score of 80% or greater is required. If your

  • Once your CITI Basic Biomedical Course is completed, sign out.
A certificate will automatically be sent to the IRB electronically.  Plan on dedicating 1-1/2 to 2 hours to complete.  You do not need to take the course in one sitting as your user ID and password allow ongoing access at any time that is convenient for you.

If you need help or have questions, please contact Maureen Oostendorp at 616-252-5026.

If you are a intern or resident at Metro Health, your program requires completion of the web-based Research Training Course for Residents sponsored by the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Statewide Campus System. Metro Health IRB will accept this in place of CITI.
