About the Program
The Metro Health “Keeping the Beat” Student Heart Screen Program is 100% funded by donors. The program offers free cardiovascular screens to high school students ages 14-18. The goal of the screen is to identify pre-existing heart conditions and abnormalities which may place students at risk for health complications and sudden cardiac arrest.
Student Heart Screens are scheduled throughout the year. To be the first to know when dates are announced sign up for the Metro Health Hospital Foundation newsletter here.

- Several schools host fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds for the program (and in return these schools receive reserved appointments at the heart screen.)
- Local churches host fundraisers and events to support this program.
- Jared Veldheer and Allyssa DeHaan host an annual sports clinic for middle school youth.
