It’s about helping others. It’s about giving back. It’s about gratitude. Those are the common themes driving the generous actions of Metro Health employees as they go above and beyond their call of duty to impact the patients they serve and the communities they live in.
When Tim Lundberg, Metro Health security officer, comes to work every day, he is happy to be there. You can see it in his smile. While his cheerful demeanor is contagious to those around him, Tim still sees a deep need behind the eyes of many he greets. And he’s doing something about it.
“Times are tough, and people need help now more than ever,” says Tim. “Metro does an incredible job reaching out to our community, and that is something I want to be a part of.”
Nyla Kuperus agrees. A Registered Nurse and Clinical Coordinator at the Spartan Stores Family Childbirth Center, Nyla has been a hospital employee for over 35 years. Countless patients have come under her care, and she’s witnessed firsthand the impact that Metro has on these families and beyond.
“It’s the little things we do, the way we treat our patients that makes a real difference in their health care experience and in their lives. It’s an honor to be a part of that. And if I can help, even a little, by supporting Metro’s programs, it is worth it!”
By supporting the Foundation, Tim and Nyla know they are touching the lives of those they meet at their jobs every day. They are just two of many among the Metro Health family that have found a way to help others by pledging their support each year during the Family Campaign.
