Where is the race course?
The Metro Way 5K is a single-loop course. The races starts on the Metro Health Village campus.
When is the race?
Thursday, July 31, 2014
Free Kids Races start at 6:00 p.m.
5K Run & Walk start at 6:30 p.m.
Where do I park?
There will be designated parking on Metro Health’s campus.
Where is packet pick-up?
You may pick up your packet at the Metro Health Farm Market on Thursday, July 31, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Or you may pick-up your packet at the race starting at 5:00 p.m.
How do I register?
Online registration is now closed. Participants may register at the prior to the race on July 31 starting at 5 p.m. Pre-registration is encouraged. Kids races are free, but registration is also required.
How much does the 5K run and walk cost?
Early bird registration (April 1-June 30): $20/person
Late registration (July 1-28): $25/person
Race day registration (July 31): $30/person
Is there a group or family discount?
Yes, groups of 4 or more automatically receive at 20% discount when registering together.
I am a Metro Health employee, do I get a discount?
Yes, Metro Health employees receive $5 off their registration. You may not combine this discount with the group discount. You may not apply this discount to friends or family entry. Contact Healthy Best for the discount code.
How are the race shirts sized?
The Metro Way 5K shirts are unisex. They are available in:
Am I guaranteed a shirt?
Participants must register by July 16 to reserve their t-shirt size. Participants who register after July 16 may still receive a shirt while supplies last.
What does the race shirt look like?
When are the Kids Races?
The Kids Races will take place prior to the 5K run and walk at 6 p.m. These races split into age groups and distances. Participation is free. Registration is required.
- 50-yard dash (ages 3-5)
- 100-yard dash (ages 6-9)
- 1/4 mile run (ages 10-13)
Do kids participating in the Kids Races get a t-shirt?
No, kids running in the free Kids Races (1/4 mile, 100 yard dash and 50 yard dash) do not get a Metro Way 5K t-shirt. However, all children in the Kids Races will receive a bib with race number, ribbon for finishing and sunglasses! Youth running or walking the 5K as a registered participant are eligible to receive a race shirt if registered by July 16.
My child wants to run or walk the 5K with me. Can they participate in the 5K in addition to or replace of the Kids Races?
Yes, your child can participate in the 5K by officially registering and paying the race entry fee. If your child only wants to participate in the Free Kids Races, there is no entry fee, but registration is still required.
Do I have to run the 5K?
The Metro Way 5K is a run and walk so whether your run, skip, walk or hop- all levels of exercise are welcome!

Where do the proceeds of the Metro Way 5K go?
The funds raised for the Metro Way 5K will benefit the community health initiatives of the hospital. As a non-profit community hospital, Metro Health strives to offer free and low-cost health screens, services, fitness classes and educational seminars to the community.
How do I volunteer for the Metro Way 5K?
Simply fill out the volunteer registration form and someone from the Metro Way 5K planning committee will contact you with additional information about the volunteer opportunities.
Can my dog walk or run the race with me?
As much as we love furry friends, dogs may not accompany participants at the race.
