To be considered for admission to Metro Health Hospital Assisted Breathing Center, an individual must:
- Require daily ventilator assistance (at least 6 out of every 24 hours)
- Be medically cleared by our professional staff
- Have prior approval for admission to our program from his or her insurance carrier or reimbursement agent
When it’s determined that a patient meets admission criteria, members of our staff will talk with the patient, the patient’s family and other caregivers to identify needs and expectations. Together, we’ll decide if Metro Health Hospital Assisted Breathing Center is the right place for the patient.
Once we approve admission for the patient, we’ll schedule an admission date as soon as availability in the unit allows and make transfer arrangements.
