Non-Invasive Peripheral Vascular Procedures

Venous Vascular Ultrasound Exams

What is this?  This procedure provides information regarding the blood flow through your veins, the size, shape and abnormalities of the veins.

What happens during the test?  You’ll be asked to lie on an exam table.  Warm gel, which helps transmit the ultrasound, will be applied to legs and/or arms.   A small instrument will be moved over your leg and/or arm to image the veins and study the venous blood flow.

Preparing for the Test:

  • Take all medications at your regularly scheduled time, unless your physician tells you otherwise.

Helpful Information:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
