An implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) is a device used to monitor and reset a heart that is beating too fast. Much like a pacemaker, if it monitors irregularities in heart rate, it will send out electrical shocks to reset the heart.
To maintain your implantable device, we offer a pacemaker/ICD device clinic for follow up evaluations to ensure that the unit is working correctly and effectively. To view some of our patients’ stories, click here.
The specialists at Metro Heart & Vascular offer a full array of heart and vascular services. For more information or to schedule an appointment at any one of our six locations in the West Michigan area, call (616) 252-5950.
