A CT scan is used to diagnose a wide range of diseases and is used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests to better identify some illnesses. A CT scan can also enable us to use less invasive procedures on some patients, in some cases eliminating a trip to surgery. CT is an excellent imaging tool for almost every part of the anatomy, but is used most frequently for brain, chest, heart, lungs, abdominal organs, spine and sinuses. Metro Health offers CT scan services for outpatients in the beautiful Panopoulos Imaging Center.
The inpatient imaging department houses the state-of-the-art 64-slice scanner. 64 slices refers to the number of rotations. A greater number means more rotations, and that leads to less time on the table. All of our technologists are registered and have additional training with certification for CT imaging, assuring high quality CT studies. From the moment you arrive for a CT scan, we work as a team to ensure your experience at Metro Health is smooth and comfortable.
Hours:
CT scans are performed by appointment (requires a physician order) on an outpatient basis, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Appointments on the 64-slice scanner are available from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., 7 days a week
