Our Team

The experienced team of otolaryngologists and audiologists at Metro Health Ear, Nose and Throat are dedicated to providing their patients with the best care possible.

 

Andrew M. Behler, DO, M.P.H.

Dr. Behler is a graduate of the University of Michigan, obtained a master’s degree in public health from the University of South Carolina and completed medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.  He completed his residency training in otolaryngology/head & neck surgery & facial plastics at Michigan State University. He has performed research and authored publications for the University of Michigan Medical Center, United States Department of Veteran Affairs and Mott Children’s Hospital.

 

 

Harold N. Hollander, DO, FAAO-HNS

Dr. Hollander received his osteopathic degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, and completed residency training in General Surgery and Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital. He also completed a Management Seminar through the American College of Physician Executives.

 

 

James Spoto, DO

 

A native of Rochester, NY, Dr. Spoto holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in New York and recieved his medical degree from the Midwestern University-Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed both his internship and residency in otolarynology, head and neck surgery at Metro Health Hospital.

 

 

Sharon Hickox, AuD, MA, CCC-A

Sharon received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Central Michigan University. She worked at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor for eleven years before relocating to Grand Rapids in 1996.  She is currently working on her AuD at A.T. Still University. Sharon is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, the Michigan Academy of Audiology and the American Tinnitus Association.

 

 

Scott Mahar, Au.D., CCC-A

Scott graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology & Audiology and a Doctorate of Audiology.  He completed his audiology externship at Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center in Baltimore, MD.  He is a certified audiologist in the state of Michigan and licensed hearing aid dealer.  Scott obtained his Certification of Clinical Competence-Audiology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Scott is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association.
