Now in its fifth year, the weekly open-air market will host more - and more diverse - vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, breads, plants, flowers and other locally grown and produced foods, as well as handcrafted artisan items such as jewelry, soap and candles, on site at the Wyoming hospital. The market will also hold free health screenings, including blood pressure checks and others.

Metro Health Chief Nursing Officer Ingrid Cheslek has received a Nursing Excellence Award from the West Michigan Nursing Advisory Council, or WMNAC, for her impact on the profession of nursing.
Cheslek, who is also executive vice president of patient care services, was one of the charter members and a previous chair of WMNAC, which
20 area businesses have agreed to sell paper lifesavers to their customers for $1 each, with all proceeds benefitting the Hospital. Funds will then be used to aid in the Hospital's many life-saving programs that impact the thousands of men, women and children who seek care at Metro Hospital each year. The campaign runs through the end of March.
The Metro Health Hospital Sleep Disorders Lab has received a program accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
To receive accreditation, the Sleep Disorders Lab underwent a detailed inspection of both the facility and staff, including an evaluation of testing procedures, patient contacts and physician training, to ensure it meets or exceeds all AASM standards. Additionally, the organization evaluated the facility's goals to ensure they were clearly stated and included plans for positively affecting the quality of medical care in West Michigan.
