Women’s Choice Awards – Metro Health Hospital was recognized for exceptional care and treatment of patients and honored as One of America’s Best Hospitals for: Patient Experience, Emergency Care, Obstetrics and Orthopedics. 2016
CIO 100 Award – Metro Health was recognized as an organization that exemplifies the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology due to a high performing and very secure virtual desktop that allows users to log in with their own security credentials to quickly and reliably access applications and patient data. 2015.
Environmental Leadership Circle – Awarded to Metro Health Hospital by Practice Greenhealth for a sixth consecutive year. The award recognizes health care facilities that exemplify environmental excellence and are setting the highest standards for environment practices in health care. Metro Health Hospital is one of only 25 hospitals nationwide to receive the award in 2014. 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015.
Circle of Excellence – Metro Health was recognized by Practice Greenhealth in the categories of Waste, Chemicals and Environmentally Preferable Purchasing. Metro Health was one of 10 hospitals in each category to show outstanding performance in those areas. 2014, 2015.
Battle of the Buildings – This awards program is sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council as a way to recognize the “greenest” buildings that have worked to reduce their energy consumption. Metro Health took first place in the medical category of the competition. 2015.
Health Care’s Most Wired™ Hospitals – Awarded for results in the annual “Health Care’s Most Wired Survey,” conducted by Hospitals & Health Networks. This award recognizes the hospital’s progress with information technology. Metro Health has earned this award in 2011, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018.
West Michigan’s 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For – Sponsored by the Michigan Business and Professional Association, this award recognizes companies that have excelled in key areas such as communications, community initiatives, compensation and benefits, diversity, employee development and work-life balance. 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018.

MHA Health Care Leadership Award – Metro Health Executive Vice President Dr. William Cunningham received this prestigious award from the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA). The award honors outstanding individuals who have provided exceptional leadership to health care organizations and to the health and well-being of their communities. 2013.
2013 VMWare Innovation Award: Transforming IT by Defying Convention – Metro Health received this award for being an early adopter and innovator with the use of virtualization in both the Data Center and Workstation delivery in the health care setting. Virtualization allows our clinicians faster, remote access to the clinical systems they depend on to provide rapid and effective patient care. 2013.
Michigan’s Best and Brightest in Wellness – Received from Wellco and the Michigan Business and Professional Association. The award honors organizations that recognize and celebrate quality and excellence in health and wellness. 2014.

50 Greenest Hospitals in America – Metro Health was named one of only seven hospitals in Michigan to receive the recognition for sustainability initiatives by Becker’s Healthcare Review. 2013, 2018
Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals – Metro Health Hospital was selected to this elite list of hospitals in a survey conducted nationwide by Soliant Health. 2010, 2011 & 2013.
Marketing & Advertising Awards – Metro Health received marketing and design awards for its recent brand advertising campaign, “Your Health. Our Passion.” The campaign received a bronze award for “Total Ad Campaign with TV,” and merit awards for “Newspaper series” and “Special video” from Healthcare Marketing Report, and the gold award for “Billboard design” and silver award for emergency room billboards from the Aster Awards. The campaign, which included print, outdoor, television and radio, was part of a re-branding effort to position Metro Health providers as passionate about the care they provide patients. 2013.
MHA Health Care Leadership Award – Metro Health President and CEO Mike Faas was one of three Michigan health care executives to receive this prestigious award from the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA). 2012.
Ludwig Community Benefit Award – Metro Health Hospital’s Metro Care program received this award from the Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA).
