  • Metro Health Farm Markets

    Buy Fresh. Buy Local.

It’s our 10th anniversary, and we hope you’ll celebrate with us!

We’ve come a long way from the early days when just a handful of vendors visited our hospital to sell fresh produce and baked goods to our employees. Today, the Metro Health Farm Market features about 60 vendors and attracts people from all over West Michigan, while our farm market hosted at Aquinas College caters to summertime students and the surrounding community.

In addition to farm-fresh produce, we offer baked goods, flowers and plants, homemade foods, hand-crafted items and more. Both markets feature free parking and fun, family-friendly events throughout the summer months.

    What’s in Season?

Michigan enjoys a long growing season. In addition, many of our vendors start planting early in greenhouses, making it possible to bring some produce to the market earlier than normal. Click here to view our harvest calendar.

Farm Market Recipes of the Week

Each week, we offer a new recipe that features produce that can be found at our market. While we provide a few printed copies of the recipe at the Info Booth and publish it online here, the easiest way to make sure you collect each week’s recipe is to sign up for our mailing list and include your email address. • Meet Our Seasonal Vendors

We’re pleased to have a variety of different vendors at our market each week. In fact, many have been coming to the market for years and know our regular shoppers well. Whether you’re a seasoned shopper or new to our market, we encourage you to get to know our vendors and find out what makes them special. Click here for links and bios of our farm market vendors.

Become a Part-time or Seasonal Vendor

While space is limited, we do add new part-time and seasonal vendors when possible. If you are interested in becoming a vendor at one or both of our farm markets, please review the vendor requirements outlined in our Guidelines of Operation prior to applying. Our priority is to support diverse, sustainable, local farms. We also welcome businesses with unique, locally-focused artisan food and handmade products. If you meet our qualifications, please submit your Metro Health Farm Market Application by April 24, 2015, to be considered for the 2015 season. Applications submitted after this date will be reviewed if space becomes available.

Please contact Farm Market Manager Emil Hannesson at (616) 252-6097 or with any questions.
