    A Leader in Medication Safety

At Metro Health, we want to make sure you get the medications you need, when you need them. We have multiple programs in place to address how we choose and deliver medications across the organization, from the office to the operating room. And, we work with organizations such as the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices and the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program to constantly improve our systems and our practices in all areas of medication ordering, preparation and administration.

Since 2000, we’ve been a leader in medication safety and nationally- recognized for measures we’ve taken to make sure we give our patients the right things at the right time. Because of our reputation in this area, we’ve been asked to present at national meetings.

MetroConnect, our electronic medical record (EMR), shows any physician anywhere in the Metro Health system what medications you use and links to your medical profile and to the latest reference material. This helps your physicians make the best decisions about your health care, ensuring that you receive the medications you need, that they work together and that your records are up-to-date. It’s all part of providing you the best patient experience possible at Metro Health.
