    • Hand-washing sinks in every room as well as hand sanitizers placed throughout the facility
    • All private rooms which reduces contact with other patients and their germs
    • Decontamination rooms that allow for steam-lined handling of infectious/contaminated patients
    • Outpatient departments located closest to the entrance decreases the amount of unnecessary traffic through inpatient areas
    • On stage/off stage concept significantly decreases cross-traffic among patients, staff and supplies, and the public

    To Provide Overall Improved Safety:

    • State-of-the-art access control system, fire alarm system, and infant security system that all communicate to a central command center

    To Reduce the Potential for Falls:

    • Handrails in many hallways and other areas
    • Heated sidewalks at main public entrances
    • Floor patterning in patient rooms designed to minimize contrasts for visually-impaired and elderly
