  • The Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals

    National Standards for Safety

The safety of our patients is a priority at Metro Health. One of the ways we continue to improve the safety of the health care we deliver is through our compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals established by the Joint Commission.

A Patient Safety Advisory Group,  composed of patient safety experts, nurses, physicians, pharmacists, risk managers and others with experience addressing patient safety issues advices the Joint Commission on the development and updating of National Patient Safety Goals. Each year, new goals are identified. Input is gathered from practitioners, purchasers, consumer groups and others before goals are adopted and implemented by the Joint Commission.
