Metro Health Promotes Ellen Bristol to Director of Internal Communications

Metro Health Hospital announced today that Ellen Bristol has been promoted to the position of director of internal communications.

Formerly the hospital’s communications manager, Bristol will now add internal communciations to her responsibilities. In addition to her roles with media relations and as spokeswoman, she will work with Metro Health’s executive team and provide executive ghostwriting, speechwriting and other internal communcations efforts. She will also provide communications support for Pennant Health Alliance, a joint effort with Saint Mary’s Health Care, Mercy Health Partners and the University of Michigan Health Services, to support and improve the delivery of local health care for affiliate hospitals, medical groups and the Michigan communities they serve.

Bristol brings more than 20 years of professional communications and marketing experience to her new role at Metro. She joined the hospital in 2005 as a communciations supervisor. Her responsibilities have included crisis management, social media management, managing special events and co-chairing the marketing and public relations subcommittee for the 2007 hospital move team from Grand Rapids to Wyoming.

Prior to joining Metro, she worked as an internal communications coordinator at Holland Hospital. She has held positions of increasing authority at other organizations, including Frank’s Nursery & Crafts and Foster & Gallagher.

Bristol earned her bachelor of arts from Oakland University cum laude. She currently resides in Wyoming.
