Brian D. Jepson Promoted to COO, Executive Vice President

img jepson - Brian D. Jepson Promoted to COO, Executive Vice President Brian D. Jepson was promoted to chief operating officer and executive vice president of Metro Health

Jepson, formerly executive vice president of growth strategies, will expand his leadership role to assume responsibility for Metro Health’s day-to-day operations. Specifically, he will oversee an annual operating budget of $137 million, more than 1,000 employees, and 12 neighborhood outpatient centers all serving more than 130,000 patients every year. Jepson also will maintain responsibility for Metro’s business development and physician relations.

The move allows Metro Health President and CEO Mike Faas to focus exclusively on defining Metro Health’s strategic direction, to identify and pursue new opportunities for growth and to play a more active role in the West Michigan community.

"Brian possesses the experience and leadership skills that are essential for Metro’s continued growth and success," Faas said. "In his new role as chief operating officer, he and I will work closely together to make certain Metro Health has the right people, the right services and the right locations to serve West Michigan."

Jepson, who joined Metro Health in December 2007, has more than 15 years of health-care management experience. Prior to Metro Health, Jepson spent seven years as the executive vice president and chief operating officer of Illinois-based Morris Hospital and Healthcare Centers, a Top 100 Hospital.

Jepson is an active member of the West Michigan Radiation Oncology Board, a partnership between the University of Michigan and Metro Health. He serves on the boards of Care Resources and Spartan Stores YMCA located at Metro Health Village. Jepson also is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Rotary Club of Grand Rapids and Ada Bible Church. He lives in Cascade Township with his wife Tammy and their four children.

"This is a challenging and exciting time for the health industry," Jepson said. "I’m privileged to be part of an exceptional senior executive team at Metro, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure Metro provides the best patient, employee and physician experience possible."
