Christine Maldonado Named Best of Metro

Christine Maldonado Best of MetroChristine Maldonado has been working at Metro Health for more than nine years.  She is the Administrative Assistant to Ingrid Cheslek, the Chief Nursing Officer, and Dr. Abbas, the ICU Medical Director.

Chris’ nomination forms identify her as someone who exemplifies providing the Best Employee Experience. “Chris is an incredible individual,” exclaims one nomination form. “She is willing to do whatever is asked of her. You never have to wonder if something is complete or correct when you give it to Chris.”  Chris’ ability to provide the Best Employee Experience is in part due to the great respect and admiration she has for all her co-workers, specifically the nurses at Metro.  “They have shown me what genuine caring and compassionate care looks like,” she explains. “Someone once told me I have the heart of a nurse, and there was no greater compliment I could ever receive.”

When asked about a favorite Metro memory, Chris talked about the move to the new hospital. “Although I had a very small role the day of the move, it was such a privilege to be able to observe the staff during this important day,” she explains. “It proved that there is not one Best of Metro, but many! To be a part of Metro then and now is truly a blessing I am thankful for every day.”

When asked what receiving the Best of Metro meant to her, Chris was very humbled. “There are so many employees that deserve this award,” she says. “I really feel that I am simply a reflection of all the great staff I get to work with every day.”

Congratulations, Chris! YOU are the BEST of Metro!
