Adult and Pediatric Otorlaryngology
Adult and pediatric otolaryngology involves the medical and surgical management and treatment of people with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck.
One of the primary areas of treatment for an otolaryngologist is care of the nasal cavity and sinuses. This includes treating chronic sinusitis, allergies, smell disorders, polyps, and nasal obstruction due to a deviated septum.
Metro Health’s physicians also treat conditions affecting the ear such as hearing loss, ear infections, balance disorders, ear noise (tinnitus), and some cranial nerve disorders. Other areas of expertise include treatment of diseases of the throat, larynx, and esophagus, including voice and swallowing disorders, as well as infections and tumors affecting the head and neck, and deformities of the face.
