An “endoscopist” is a physician who performs an endoscopy. Physicians with different medical backgrounds can perform endoscopies.
“Gastroenterologists” specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the digestive tract. “Internists,” or internal medicine physicians, specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in adults.
If you are looking for an endoscopist, please discuss your options with your primary care physician.
