Free Vascular Screening

12 million Americans have peripheral artery disease (PAD), yet only about 25% are treated due to a lack of awareness. PAD causes leg arteries to harden and clog, reducing blood flow to the feet and legs. A painless diagnostic tool called ABI will help determine if PAD is present and help you prevent serious consequences like heart attack, stroke or leg amputation.

West Michigan Heart is offering a free ABI Vascular Screening on Saturday, October 18, 8 a.m.-noon at its office in Metro Health Hospital, 5900 Byron Center Ave., Wyoming. Registration is required. Please call (616) 252-5935. Screening will also take place at the West Michigan Heart Bradford Clinic, 2800 Bradford St. NE, Grand Rapids. To register for that site, call (616) 459-0156.
