  • CT Scan

From the moment you arrive for a CT scan, whether inpatient or outpatient, our team will work to make sure your experience at Metro Health is smooth and comfortable. All of our technologists are registered and have additional training with certification for CT imaging, ensuring high-quality CT studies.

A CT is an excellent imaging tool for almost every part of the anatomy, but is used most frequently for brain, chest, heart, lungs, abdominal organs, spine, and sinuses. It is used to diagnose a wide range of diseases and in conjunction with other diagnostic tests to better identify certain illnesses. With some patients, a CT scan can enable us to use less invasive procedures, perhaps eliminating a trip to surgery. Metro Health’s outpatient CT scan services take place in our Panopoulos Imaging Center.

The inpatient imaging department houses Metro Health’s state-of-the-art 128 slice CT Scanners. “128 slices” refers to the number of rotations or pictures per rotation. The greater the number means faster scan times, and that leads to you spending less time on the table.

CT scans are performed by appointment (requires a physician order) on an outpatient basis, Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There are also options for weekend appointments . Inpatient and Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
