  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) uses a strong magnet to create medical images of the anatomy. It’s particularly helpful for examining the brain, spine, joints, and some organs. The MRI unit looks similar to a CT machine because there is a “doughnut”-like structure with a table that moves in and out of the doughnut. MRI is always used in conjunction with other tests to help diagnose a condition.

Most tests take at least 45 minutes to complete. You’ll be asked to change your clothes, and will be screened by our skilled staff for specific items that may interfere with a good MRI study. Our staff and physicians will make the MRI experience the best possible for you.
