Mary Wolff Named Best of Metro

Mary%20Wolff200x200 - Mary Wolff Named Best of MetroMary has been working at Metro Health for 23 years!  She has always worked as the Cytology Supervisor in the Lab and has seen it grow from a department of one person (just her) in one room at the Boston Street hospital to a much larger department in the current hospital.

Mary’s ability to be caring and sensitive with patients has garnered her a reputation for providing the Best Patient Experience.  “She is very quick to connect with them and calmly explains the procedure and what she will be doing,” says her nomination form.  Mary also excels at providing the Best Employee Experience, she is “extremely supportive…she goes out of her way to make sure every employee is comfortable.”  Mary’s commitment to the Best Employee Experience has led her to serve on a number of committees and has “allowed me to meet and work with some great people from all over the hospital.”

When asked to choose a favorite Metro memory, Mary thought back to an inspection of the lab last spring by the College of American Pathologists.  “We have an onsite inspection every two years,” she explains.  “The group that came to inspect us gave us very high marks.  This is truly a reflection of the hard work and dedication of every person in the lab, and some outside of the lab.  We have great team members here at Metro!”

When asked what receiving the award means to her, in true Best of Metro fashion, Mary thought of her co-workers.  “I work with some incredible people,” she says.  “Knowing that some of them suggested I be recognized in this way is very humbling.”  Mary feels very thankful to work with such a wonderful group, and as she puts it, “they help me to be a better person, and so many of them deserve this award!”

Congratulations Mary, You are the Best of Metro!
