Metro Health Adds New Pulmonologist
Bourbonnais specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of lung disease and sleep disorders. She is licensed to practice in Michigan and Ohio and is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. She began seeing patients in March.
Prior to joining Metro she served as a physician at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, and its sister facility in nearby Boardman. Prior to that, she as an assistant professor of medicine at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center.
Bourbonnais received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Wayne State and her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. She had fellowship training in critical care and pulmonary medicine at Wayne State and the Detroit Medical Center.
She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association and Michigan State Medical Society. She has presented at numerous conferences and published several articles.
A native of Southeast Michigan, she currently resides in East Grand Rapids with her husband and daughter.
