Metro Health Emergency Department Receives National Distinction for Low Wait Times
Metro Health Hospital has made the list of the nation’s hospitals with the shortest emergency department wait times, according to Becker’s Hospital Review.
From an analysis of hospitals with more than 100 beds, Metro Health’s emergency department wait time clocked in at three minutes compared to the national door-to-diagnosis of 24 minutes. Metro Health is the only hospital in West Michigan to make the list – and one of only four in the state on the list of 44.
“Providing fast and effective service is at the core of our culture at Metro Health,” said Mike Faas, president and CEO of Metro Health. “We are proud to receive this distinction, which is just one of the many examples of our commitment to meeting the care needs of our patients.”
Metro Health’s emergency department is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians. It averages 61,000 visits each year and consistently ranks high in patient satisfaction.
