Metro Health to Hold Free Prostate Cancer Screening

In a continuing effort to promote early detection, Metro Health Hospital will hold a prostate cancer screening on Thursday, June 5.

The prostate screening, which is free and open to the public, is recommended for men beginning at age 50 who have not had an exam in the past year and have never been diagnosed with prostate cancer. African-American men and men with a family history of prostate cancer should begin annual screenings at the age of 40.

The screening will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Metro Health Breton at 1925 Breton Road SE and is made possible by the Metro Health Hospital Foundation. While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are encouraged. Appointments can be made by calling 616-252-7070 beginning May 28.
