Metro Health Holds Open House on Oct. 22 Designed to Help Businesses Reduce Health Care Costs
Metro Health will host an open house on Wednesday, Oct. 22 designed to help businesses reduce the costs of employee health care while improving quality.
The event, which is free and open to business owners, human resource professionals, benefits administrators and other managers, will highlight its direct contracting and Executive Health programs. Both provide cost-effective options that allow businesses large and small to provide access to quality health care options for their employees while managing expenses.
The open house will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Metro Health Conference Center, 2225 Main Street SW in Wyoming. Metro Health physicians and key leadership will be on hand for a brief program that runs from 6:15-6:45 p.m., followed by the opportunity to asks questions and connect directly with presenters Dr. Paul Gauthier, Dr. Frank Belsito and Chief Community Officer Floyd Wilson. Light refreshments will be served.
“I see it in my practice all the time,” said Belsito, a practicing physician at Metro Health and chief population health officer. “Patients struggle to balance between when to see a doctor and how to afford their out-of-pocket costs. If they haven’t met their deductible, they may delay care and wind up sicker than if they had come to see me earlier.
“Businesses that choose to contract directly with Metro Health or participate in our Executive Health program can provide affordable access to quality preventive care to their employees, helping them avoid or better manage chronic disease. The result is measurably better outcomes for employees – and a healthier, happier workforce for businesses.”
Direct contracting allows businesses to work directly with Metro Health to negotiate better rates for preventive and primary care services. Plans are tailored to the specific needs of a business and can be used in combination with retail health care exchanges now available or other employer incentives or benefits.
The Metro Health Executive Health Program offers confidential, comprehensive and convenient head-to-toe physicals along with routine tests to detect current medical issues and identify potential risks. Exams are patient-centered and tailored to the executive’s age, gender and medical history. Physicians will provide one-on-one consultation about preventative health measures, including action steps to make important lifestyle changes.
Advance registration is recommended. To register, please call Justin VanPaemel at 616.252.7198 or e-mail Justin.VanPaemel@metrogr.org.
