Metro Health Hospital Foundation to Host Feelin’ Grand on Sept. 20

The Metro Health Hospital Foundation will host Feelin’ Grand on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Proceeds from the annual black-tie fundraiser will benefit community health and wellness programs, which provide programs such as:

  • Flu shot clinics
  • Peripheral artery disease community screenings
  • Coping with Cancer support group
  • High school student heart screens
  • “Germs Away” school program
  • Mammograms for the poor and underserved

These health and wellness programs provide care to thousands of men, women and children in our community every year by breaking down barriers that may otherwise prevent many from accessing such services. The programs provide education and knowledge to empower individuals and families to lead healthier lives.

“As a foundation, it is both a responsibility and a privilege to serve the healthcare needs of our entire community,” said Laura Staskiewicz, executive vice president of the Metro Health Hospital Foundation. “Thanks to our donors we are able to offer a wide variety of health and wellness programs designed to meet the needs of the underserved in our community.

“Your support through Feelin’ Grand will provide access to much-needed health care to allow all West Michigan families to live healthier lives.”

Feelin’ Grand will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a reception and social hour at DeVos Place Steelcase Ballroom in downtown Grand Rapids. Dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. Comedian Ralph Harris will again provide entertainment for the event. In addition, Nine Mile Smile will return for the second year to provide dancing and music for attendees.

Feelin’ Grand is Metro Health’s annual gala that has been held since 1993 with a special beneficiary for each year. In 2013, the Foundation raised more than $400,000 to support diabetes programs.

Tickets are $200 per person. Fifty percent of the ticket price is tax-deductible. To purchase tickets or to receive information regarding sponsorship opportunities, call the Metro Health Hospital Foundation at 616.252.5000 or visit yougivehope.net.
