GVSU, which has nearly 25,000 undergraduate and graduate students on its campuses in Allendale and Grand Rapids, selected Metro Health after a competitive bidding process. A team of physicians, nurse practitioners and other health professionals from Metro Health will staff the GVSU Campus Health Center beginning Sept. 1, providing general medical care.

The clinic, which will be open Monday through Friday from 9a.m.-4:30 p.m., will provide complete physicals, women’s health services, immunizations, laboratory services, testing and other services. Additionally, students and faculty will have convenient access to additional health services, including sports medicine, X-rays and physical therapy, at the nearby Metro Health Allendale neighborhood outpatient center.

Stacey Kammer, who has served as center manager of Metro Health Allendale since its opening last year, will manage the GVSU Campus Health Center.

"We are extremely pleased to expand our presence in Allendale and strengthen our ties to GVSU with this new contract," said Mike Faas, president and CEO of Metro Health. "Metro has been active on Grand Valley’s campus as the medical provider for various sports teams. We look forward to being on campus as the university’s chosen health care provider when students return to classes this fall."

Metro Health has a strong commitment to providing affordable, quality health care throughout the community at its 12 conveniently located neighborhood outpatient centers.
