Metro Health Welcomes Kathleen J. Lawson as Director of Physician Services
Kathleen J. Lawson has joined Metro Health Hospital as the new director of physician services.
In her new role, Lawson will be responsible for strategy development to recruit and retain physicians to Metro Health Hospital and its 12 neighborhood outpatient centers. Currently, the hospital has more than 520 physicians. She is also responsible for promoting service lines and capturing patient referrals within the system’s market.
Prior to joining Metro Health, Lawson spent nearly a decade at mmpc, which later became Spectrum Health Medical Group, as director of physician recruitment. In this role, she was responsible for implementing a physician recruiting program that focused on 40 medical and surgical divisions, including cardiology and orthopedics, establishing relationships with academic and research partners, developing a 10-county "physician supply inventory" for the region’s future needs and related activities.
She was also a physician recruiter with Saint Mary’s Health Care.
Lawson holds a bachelor of science in business from Ferris State University. Active professionally, she is a member of the Association of Staff Physician Recruiters, American Medical Group Association, Medical Group Management Association, Inforum-West Michigan and a former officer of the Michigan Recruitment and Retention Network.
A native of Grand Haven, she now resides in Rockford.
