Nancy Hochstetler Selected as Best of Metro

A huge reason for Nancy receiving the Best of Metro is her commitment to providing the Best Patient Experience. “Nancy has incredible customer service. It is something to be envied,” declares a nomination. “She demonstrates extraordinary professionalism as well as care and compassion to each patient and their families.” For Nancy, it all comes back to having a positive attitude. “I believe a positive attitude at work can make the day easier and more enjoyable,” she explains.
This positive outlook also translates into how Nancy provides the Best Employee Experience. “If I give 100% to my job responsibilities and service my coworkers to the best of my ability, then the entire floor can benefit from it,” she explains.
“Nancy goes above and beyond her designated job responsibilities to make life easier for both the patients as well as her coworkers,” explains her nomination. “She exceeds her job expectations and is an absolute asset to the floor.”
When asked about her favorite Metro Memory, Nancy, like so many others, thought of the hospital move. She thought it was interesting to watch the dynamics at play as the planning led up to the move itself and that “it was fun to be part of it and watch is all unfold successfully.”
When Nancy was asked about being recognized as the Best of Metro, she was very humbled. “I never expected to be nominated,” she said. “My coworkers are very kind to present this honor to me.” She also talked about experiencing firsthand the great care that Metro offers. When her mother had to come to the ED she received the compassionate care from physicians, nurses and other staff that Nancy had come to expect from the Metro team, and it was very appreciated in that time of need.
