Tim Roberts Selected as Best of Metro

Congratulations!
Tim Roberts
Best of Metro Winner

Tim-RobertsTim has worked at Metro Health for about two and a half years as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department. Prior to joining the Metro team, Tim worked as an LPN at a long term care facility, and he served as a United States Marine for six years. Thank you for your service, Tim.

Tim’s Best of Metro nomination gives a glowing report of someone who is dedicated to providing the Best Patient Experience. It describes him as “kind and gentle in each interaction with patients and families. He has a very calming demeanor…it instantly changes a very stressful situation into a controlled and focused encounter.”

Tim’s nomination also recognized how he provides the Best Employee Experience. “Tim is a leader with words and actions. He is kind, supportive and understanding of staff needs. He can easily set a positive tone in the ED just by encouraging others. He is also our Unit Based Council chairperson and works hard to improve the ED.”

Tim himself acknowledges the importance of the Metro Way. “It’s quite important and I intentionally think about the Metro Way with all my interactions,” he said. “We are blessed to be different, and as a healthcare provider, I understand that providing the best experience requires me to be conscious of our unique characteristics.”

When asked about his favorite Metro Memory, Tim thought back to a family fun day event at Whistle Stop Park that the ED’s UBC hosted. “It just happened to be the only day in August that was 50 degrees and raining,” he explained. “I had a significant role in hosting, being the UBC chair, and felt slightly discouraged with the weather and the unfortunate turnout we were likely going to have. Of course, my fellow employees wouldn’t let me down…it turned out to be quite a fun day and I was able to connect with many of my fellow employees and their families. Our team is like a family!”

When asked what being named Best of Metro meant to him, Tim thought of his team in the ED and the large number of them that were present for his recognition. “I truly could not believe that everyone had come to the emergency department to show how much they valued my service. It was amazing and I feel beyond honored to be recognized as the Best of Metro!”

Congratulations, Tim!
